| This is one of the best Zinfandel vintages of the 1990's. "The aroma of this wine reminds me of the scent of blackberries in full sun on a hot summer day," says Philip Staley. He produced the wine using labor intensive methods, including fermentation in small open-top tanks with twice-daily punch downs of the fermenting cap by hand. Blended with 5% Petite Sirah, this complex wine has deep fruit flavors and a silky texture. |  |
